The Center for Compassion Focused Therapy is an internationally known, practice, with a team of therapists who bring extensive experience in mindfulness and compassion-focused cognitive and behavioral therapies to a range of problems including: depression, anxiety, trauma, ADHD, phobias, OCD, emotion regulation problems, relationship conflicts, executive coaching challenges, stress reduction, mindful self-compassion, and many other challenges.
We seek to help our clients and students to connect with their inner wisdom, to cultivate mindful awareness, to develop compassionate courage, and to experience the empowerment they need to move forward in lives of meaning, purpose, and vitality.
Our Approach

Our approach involves cutting edge, evidence-based, cognitive-behavioral psychotherapies that integrate the neuroscience of positive emotion, behavioral research, and centuries old meditation methods from around the world. The Center for CFT was founded by two internationally recognized expert psychologists, authors and speakers, who have led the way in bringing Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) to the USA, Dr. Dennis Tirch and Dr. Laura Silberstein-Tirch.
The center was established in affiliation with CFT founder, esteemed English psychologist Dr. Paul Gilbert OBE, and serves as the home for The Compassionate Mind Foundation, USA. Our central approaches include:

- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
- Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)


Our Services
These CBT methods have a remarkable record of significant outcome research. Dr. Tirch and his colleagues are extensively trained, and are in fact trainers, in these traditional variations of CBT. Today, our emphasis is on recent advances in CBT that represent the further growth of evidence based psychological practice. These directions involve mindfulness, compassion, and acceptance.
