Dennis Tirch, Ph.D.

Co-Founder and Director

Dr. Tirch is the Founder of The Center for CFT, the first clinical and training center for Compassion CFT in the United States. Dr. Tirch has trained thousands of therapists the world over, and has conducted more than 35,000 hours of psychotherapy. Dr. Tirch has been a leading figure in CFT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and CBT for two decades.

Laura Silberstein-Tirch, Psy. D.

Co-Founder and Director

Dr. Silberstein-Tirch is an internationally known expert, author and speaker on evidence-based, compassion-focused therapies. She has specialized in working with anxiety disorders, mood disorders, trauma, insomnia, impulse control difficulties and emotion regulation problems.

Talya Vogel Geller, Psy.D.

Director of the Trauma, Transformation & Resilience Program, and Senior Psychologist

Dr. Vogel conducts evidence-based psychotherapy, grounded in mindfulness, acceptance and compassion, with adults, adolescents and couples. Having completed training at Stanford and Palo-Alto University, with a special emphasis on understanding and treating responses to trauma.

Lauren Todd, Ph.D.

Director of Compassion Psychology for the Public, Director of Child & Adolescent Services, and Senior Psychologist

Dr. Todd works with individuals across the life span, and specializes in evidence-based treatments, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Compassion-Focused Therapy. She has advanced training in the treatment of mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma, grief, and life & role transitions.

Nicholas Dynan, MA,

Extern

Nicholas is a third-year doctoral student at Kean University. He currently works with individuals across the lifespan and pursues specialization in evidenced-based practices including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT). His goal is to help clients face difficult emotions, becoming unstuck from patterns of behavior which constrict their lives, and help them pursue meaningful and fulfilling values-driven action.

Troy DuFrene, Ph.D.

Postdoctoral Resident

Troy DuFrene, PhD, BCBA, is a postdoctoral fellow and associate psychologist at the Center for  CFT. He is additionally a board-certified behavior analyst, licensed in Nevada and Oregon, and a registered psychological associate in California. He offers solution and compassion-focused individual and group psychotherapy to older adolescents, adults, and couples.
